COVID-19 Testing FAQ

Medicine Man Pharmacy is currently offering two forms of COVID-19 testing at different locations.

PCR Test (Results in 2-3 days) Done at 511 Washington St., Hoboken, NJ 07030)
Rapid Test (Results in 5-6 hours) (605 Jackson St., Hoboken, NJ 07030)

Do I need to make an appointment to receive a COVID-19 test?
Yes, currently we are performing tests by appointments only.

PCR Test only at 511 Washington St. is DRIVE BY ONLY. Unfortunately we do not test anyone doing Walk in at location currently.

How are these tests administered?
Rapid Test: Self Administered via nasal swab. You will receive instruction on how to self swab your nostrils.

PCR Test: Self Administered via nasal swab. You will receive instruction on how to self swab your nostrils

How long will it take to receive my results?
Rapid Test: Test results will be available within 3-6 hours. If your results are positive you may get a call or email within 1-2 hours. We will try our best to get your results as soon as possible.

PCR Test: Results typically take 2-3 days once the lab receives the test kit.

What platform do you use for testing?
All PCR tests performed are sent to our commercial lab partners (Bioreference).

For Rapid Testing, we use BD Veritor Analyzer Plus. They have FDA Emergency Use authorization.

How much do each of those tests cost?
If you are UNINSURED the cost for the PCR TEST would be $160/ test and for the RAPID TEST would be $105/ test. (HOBOKEN RESIDENTS ONLY: If you are uninsured the cost of RAPID TEST will be paid by CITY OF HOBOKEN).

If you are insured, there will be the $5 is a hold on your card in case your insurance does not cover the service, in which case your card will be charged the full amount of $160. Please call your insurance carrier to understand whether you have a PPO plan (coverage likely) or an HMO plan (coverage unlikely).

If you have concerns, kindly call your insurance provider ahead of your visit to confirm that will cover the cost of your test.
